Tabhaich! Gaelic Classes

Tha cùisean air a bhith beagan sàmhach a thaobh na Gàidhlig o chionn ghoirid, ach tha atharrachadh a’ tighinn! Tha sinn an dùil sreath de thachartasan Gàidhlig a chruthachadh tron t-Samhradh, agus tron Gheamhradh cuideachd.

Bidh prògram a’ Gheamhraidh gu math spòrsail agus tha sinn a’ dèanamh fiughair innse dhuibh mu dheidhinn. An dràsta ged tha, seo dhuibh planaichean an t-Samhraidh, air am maoineachadh le Fèisean nan Gàidheal!

It’s been a bit quiet on the Gaelic front recently, but that’s all about to change! We intend to create a series of Gaelic events through the Summer, and through the Winter too.

The winter programme is shaping up to be a lot of fun and we can’t wait to share it with you. In the meantime, here are our Summer plans, funded by Fèisean nan Gàidheal and Argyll and Bute Council!

Clasaichean Còmhraidh | Conversation Classes

Professor Donald Meek is going to be running a series of conversation classes. These will be suitable for medium-advanced learners and native speakers. We particularly want to welcome those who understand plenty, but don’t often get the opportunity to speak Gaelic!

Conversation Class Kick Off

  • Weds 17 July at 7pm in the Trust Office

This will be an opportunity for everyone taking part to meet each other and to get a say in how the conversation class will work. Please register your interest by emailing admin@tireetrust.org.uk

Conversation Classes

  • Sat 27 July @ 1.30pm (An Talla)
  • Sat 3 August @ 1.30pm (Trust Office)
  • Sat 10 August @ 1.30pm (Trust Office)

Seiseanan Fiosrachaidh | Information Sessions

Professor Meek will also be running some informal information sessions over the Summer. These are designed for visitors and for Gaelic learners and novices to find out more about Gaelic in Tiree and learn a few basics!

As part of this, we are really excited to be launching a Gaelic Heritage Trail with the support of an Iodhlann – so stay tuned!
